Course Description

The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and understanding of financial markets and the key features and functions of financial derivatives. Further, it will make students develop an understanding of the principles of derivative pricing and use of financial derivatives to hedge against foreign risk exposure.The course discuses the role of financial markets and financial derivatives traded on this market. Derivatives have become a popular hedging and investment tool over the last few decades. The course will provide students with a framework to understand the underlying concepts of derivative products such as forwards, futures, options, swaps and develop necessary skills used valuing derivative contracts. Students will also understand a wide variety of issues related to risk management and investment decisions using derivatives.
